Tropical Storm Chantal Forecast Verification
Written by Derek Ortt on ANovember 29, 2007

There were no verifiable forecasts issued for Chantal. This decision was based upon the fact that Chantal was expected to be a very short lived cyclone and not affect land as a tropical cyclone. This forecast verified as Chantal quickly became extra-tropical after its formation and only affected land as an extra-tropical cyclone.

The storm updates did correctly mention the possibility of Chantal becoming a storm and conveyed the threat to Newfoundland as an extra-tropical cyclone.
