0300 UTC 9/4/2009 TROPICAL STORM ERIKA FORECAST #6

For official information, please refer to the National Hurricane Center or local emergency management officials.

Erika is only producing periodic convection near the low-center. This has been greatly reduced from previous days. Mid level shear is increasing; thus, the convection should remain well east of the center. Winds have also dropped below tropical storm force. Given this, Erika is being declared to be a remnant low at this time.

There is potential for redevelopment according to the models in a couple of days. Models suggest a new center will form north of Hispaniola. This situation will be closely monitored and further information will be contained in the Atlantic Ocean Tropical Outlook.

This is the final forecast on Erika. No graphics or forecast track/intensity.
