11 A.M. PDT 10/20/2003 TROPICAL DEPRESSION 16-E SPECIAL UPDATE #1

Currently, the center of Tropical Depression 16-E is located near 10.1N and 1005W. This places the center well away from any land areas. The motion is to the west near 12 m.p.h. and a west to WNW track is expected during the next couple of days.

Maximum winds are near 35 m.p.h. The pressure is estimated to be 1006mb. Intensification is expected and this system could become a tropical storm later today.

8 P.M. PDT 10/20/2003 TROPICAL STORM PATRICIA UPDATE #2

This is an independent product and not from the National Hurricane Center

Currently, the center of Tropical Storm Patricia is located near 10.6N and 102.4W. This places the center well away from any land areas. The motion is to the WNW near 10 m.p.h. and this general track is expected to continue during the next couple of days.

Maximum winds have increased to near 50 m.p.h. The pressure is estimated to be 1000mb. Continued intensification is likely and Patricia should become a hurricane within the next 24-36 hours.

2 P.M. PDT 10/20/2003 HURRICANE PATRICIA UPDATE #4

This is an independent product and not from the National Hurricane Center

Currently, the overcast eye of newly upgraded Hurricane Patricia is located near 11.8N and 104.5 W. This places the center well away from any land areas at the moment. The motion is to the WNW near 10 m.p.h, and Patricia should begiin to take a more northerly track as time progresses.

Maximum winds have increased to near 75 m.p.h. The pressure is estimated to be near 985 mb. Continued intensification is likely. Patricia may well become an intense Eastern Pacific hurricane. It is too early to tell whether or not landfall will occur, but interests along the western Mexican and Baja Californian coast should monitor the development of Patricia. However, landfall is not likely within the next 72 hours.
