8 A.M. PDT 9/14/2003 TROPICAL STORM LINDA UPDATE #1

This is an independent product and not from the National Hurricane Center

Currently, the center of Tropical Storm Linda is located near 16.0N and 109.8W. This places the center well into the open Pacific Ocean. The motion is to the WNW near 10 m.p.h. This track is expected to continue for the next couple of days, keeping Linda well away from any land areas.

Maximum winds are near 40 m.p.h. The pressure is estimated to be 1005mb. Some slight additional intensification is expected before the system moves into cooler waters, though Linda is not expected to become a hurricane.

As a note, the last time the name Linda was used in 1997, it becaume the most powerful Eastern Pacific hurricane ever, with a pressure is 900mb.
