11 P.M. EDT 4/20/2003 Subtropical Storm Ana Update #1

Ana forms near Bermuda bringing squally weather to the island nation. Weather conditions should remain rough during the next 24 hours until Ana moves to the east.

NWHHC now recommends a gale warning for Bermuda. Please refer to the Bermuda Weather Service or to the link on the main page for official watches and warnings.

Currently, the center of newly formed Subtropical Storm Ana is located near 31.4N and 66.3W. This places the center about 100 miles to the SW of Bermuda. The current motion is a slow drift to the east. A faster motion, with a turn to the NE is expected during the next 48 hours.

Maximum winds are near 40 m.p.h. The pressure is estimated to be 1002mb. Little change in intensity is anticipated at this time, though there is some potential for slight intensification before reaching Bermuda. Ana is expected to be absorbed into the approaching frontal system within the next 48 hours.

2 A.M. ADT 4/21/2003 Subtropical Storm Ana Update #2

This is an independent product and not from the National Hurricane Center or the Bermuda Weather Service.

Ana shifts slightly to the south of due east. Will clear Bermuda to the south. However, squally weather is expected to continue for the area during the next 12-24 hours.

NWHHC continues to recommend a gale warning for Bermuda. Please refer to the link on the homepage, or to the Bermuda Weather Service for any official watches and warnings.

Currently, the center of Subtropical Storm Ana is located near 31N and 65.9W. This places the storm about 90 miles to the SSW of Bermuda. The motion is to the SE near 10 m.p.h. A track more to the east, then NE is expected during the next 36 hours.

Maximum winds remain near 40 m.p.h. The pressure is estimated to be 1002mb. Little change in intensity is anticipated during the next 36 hours. After this time, Ana is expected to be absorbed by the approaching trough to its west.

Ana moved to the south of Bermuda. Squally weather should continue during the next 12 hours.

Currently, the center of Subtropical Storm Ana is located near 30.2N and 65.3W. This places the storm about 85 miles south of Bermuda. The motion is to the ESE near 10. A track to the east, then ENE is expected during the next 36 hours.

Maximum winds remain near 40 m.p.h. The pressure is estimated to be 1002mb. Little change or weakening is anticipated until the system is absorbed by the approaching frontal system.

Ana clears Bermuda. Weather will be improving throughout the day.

NWHHC no longer recommends the gale warning for Bermuda.

Currently, the center of Subtropical Storm Ana is located near 29.8N and 64.2W. This places the center about 185 miles SSE of Bermuda. The motion is to the ESE near 12 m.p.h. A more easterly track is expected, followed by an ENE track during the next 36 hours.

Maximum winds remain near 40 m.p.h. The pressure is estimated to be 1002mb. No change in intensity is expected until merging with the trough in about 36 hours.

Currently, the center of Subtropical Storm Ana is located near 29.5N and 62.3W. This places the center about 350 miles to the SE of Bermuda. The motion is to the ESE near 15 m.p.h. A track more to the east, then ENE is expected during the next 36 hours.

Maximum winds remain near 40 m.p.h. The pressure is estimated ot be 1000mb. Little change in intensity is anticipated during the next 24 hours before Ana merges with the approaching frontal system.

Currently, the center of Subtropical Storm Ana is located near 29.4N and 60.4W. This places Ana well into the open Atlantic Ocean. The motion is currently to the east near 17 m.p.h. This track is expected to continue during the next 24 hours, with a turn to the ENE, along with an acceleration.

Maximum winds remain near 40 m.p.h. The pressure is estimated to be 1000mb. Little change in intensity is expected during the next 24 hours. After this time, Ana is expected to merge with the approaching trough.

Currently, the center of Subtropical Storm Ana is located near 29.8N and 57.8W. This places Ana well away from any land areas. The motion is to the east near 20 m.p.h. A ENE turn is expected soon.

Maximum winds have increased slightly to 45 m.p.h. The pressure is estimated to be 998mb. Little change in intensity is anticipated during the next 24-36 hours. After this time, Ana is expected to become an extra-tropical cyclone.

11 P.M. ADT 4/22/2002 Subtropical Storm Ana Update #8

This is an independent product and not from the National Hurricane Center

Currently, Subtropical Storm Ana is located near 30.3N and 53.7W. This places Ana in the open ocean. The motion is to the east near 19 m.p.h. This track is expected to turn to the ENE and accelerate over the next 48 hours.

Maximum winds remain near 45 m.p.h. The pressure is estimated to be 998mb. Little change in intensity is anticipated during the next couple of days. After this, Ana is expected to make the transition into an extra-tropical cyclone.

11 A.M. ADT 4/23/2003 Remnants of Ana Update #9 Corrected

This is an independent product and not from the National Hurricane Center.

Ana has made the transition into an extra-tropical cyclone. The large center is now located near 32N and 51W. The motion is to the NE near 15 m.p.h. This general track should continue. No change from the current 40 m.p.h. wind speed is expected either.

This is the final update that will be issued for Ana.
